    12x15 SEF EXC.?

Has anyone been able to compare the 12x15 vs 10x12 SEF's for depth? I have the dd1400, but need something deeper. I am wondering if the extra weight of the larger coil (12x15) will pay off in depth. Any testimonials for either SEF are welcome. Thanks!

    Super 12 reviews?

Howdy folks- I haven't found any objective reviews yet on the Whites Super 12 coil on the MXT. Anyone here have any input? Especially as to how it compares to the Excellerators (12' DD, and 12x15 SEF). I have the 1400 and like it, but not impressed with its depth. Thanks! kykev and mxtswinger

    A couple Goldscan 5 Q's

My Goldscan 5 is due to arrive tomorrow. This will be my first PI machine. Any pointers on pinpointing would be appreciated as well as determining the depth and size of a target. I intend to do some nuggethunting in AK, but my primary targets will be coins, relics and jewelry. Big thanks in...

    Cannonball ID?

Howdy folks. This is my first cannonball, an it was a complete surprise. There was no CW action that I know of at it's location (in town) I believe there were a few troops occasionally in the town. French and English were also in the vicinity. It's approx 3" in diameter. Haven't been able to...

    Threshold question

I hunt old homesites almost exclusively and have learned to live with the noise of the MXT in high levels of junk, but am wondering if the stable threshold rule applies even when the detector is almost continuously nulling or clicking out trash. If I can't hear the threshold over all the chatter...

    Luck O' The Irish

I've had my MXT for about 8 months now, and finally decided to try my "backyard". I new there used to be a house there when I was a kid but had forgotten about it until a neighbor asked if I had hunted there yet. My memory was of a small house that wasn't all that old, so I kept putting it off...

Bet I've got the only one of these

My Dad plowed up some new ground for a garden this year and turned up scads of broken pottery, china, stoneware, glass etc. No one I talked to locally could remember any structure ever being there. Naturally I had to investigate with my MXT. The iron that has fooled the disrimination thus far...

    Inside vs. outside the foundation

I know that all bets are off as to where good finds are discovered, but I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on which area is more productive (for coins at least)- inside or outside the foundation or footprint of old homes or buildings. This assumes that the structure is no longer there...

    Anyone have luck digging half-beeps?

I've had my MXT about six months now but still have a lot to learn. I have read many tips on hunting trashy areas and have had some success doing so. I recently learned the advantages of Relic mode with Trigger fwd. I am currently hunting a three story hotel that burnt many years ago. The term...
