    A Rosie Afternoon

I was able to get out for a couple of minutes this evening between the rain. Didn't get to hunt long but the 30 minutes was worth a 59 Rosie. I can't complain.

    Close... But No Cigar...

I was able to get out today with a hunting buddy for a trip to a local park. The ground was soaked from all the rain we received. Just about every plug we dug was full of water. I enjoyed the hunt, just hated the muddy mess of digging and retrieving. I think the CTX was hungry for copper and...

    CTX -- Hits Silver Again

The weather has been nasty here today.... rainy, cold, and windy. I couldn't help getting out for about 30 minutes before it got too bad. I hit another old school site that has produced clad, wheats, and a war nickel. Well, today the CTX hit silver again. I was using the 6 inch coil and a...

    It Was A Great Day

Well that good day behind the CTX that I was looking for came today. I made 2 hunts with my hunting buddy. We hit 3 schools. 2 modern schools and 1 old school that is no longer being used. The 1st school, I pulled a couple of quarters, several dimes, and a few pennies. Of course I dug some trash...

    Nothing to Brag About

Ok... This probably isn't worth posting but here it is any way. I got permission to hunt an old site (Circa 1860's) this evening so me and friend went by and hit it for an hour or so. Well, we were disappointed because of what we came away with. There was a good bit of trash so we plan to go...

WOW!!! :bouncy: 2 FIRST with the CTX

Wow!!! What a great day with some first with my CTX... Well... Me and a hunting buddy went to an old school site that has some pillars out by the road that have 1927 on one pair and 1928 on the other pair. We got to hunt the site the other week for about 30 minutes. Today we went back and got to...

    GoPro 3 & CTX

Ok... So I've had my GoPro for a while now and I've used it for other projects. I would like to fix it up to work with my CTX so I can do some screen shots along with some dig videos. I'm sure someone has figured out a way to mount the GoPro on the CTX. If anyone has done this can you please...

CTX on the Ides of March

Well I was able to get out for a couple of hours this evening at a local elementary school. You can tell by the picture... I think this is the most pennies I've found in a long time. Most of them are coppers. I've learned what the zincs ring up at, and I've kinda starting leaving some of them...

First Run with the CTX 3030 - 03/08/14

Well I was able to get out today and take my CTX for its first run. Overall impression for the first trip -----> Satisfied :thumb up: So here are some of my observations. The first place I hit today was an old farm house. There was so much iron in the ground that with an open pattern it...

The CTX 3030 Has Landed :bouncy:

WOW!!! It finally landed... After nearly a week of waiting the CTX 3030 is here. It already has a story to tell. After I ordered the detector I started tracking it's travel. Everything was on time until Wednesday night. Before I went to bed I pulled up the tracking info only to find a every...

Waiting For My New CTX

Well... I've been a long time DFX swinger but that's about to change this week. I've been doing a lot of research and have decided to dive into Minelab with the CTX 3030. I'm sure there's going to be a learning curve, but it looks like my kind of detector. I almost went over to Minelab years ago...

    Need Some Help Choosing

Ok... So I have been a long time user of White's detectors. I started out with the XLT then moved up to the DFX. I've been very happy with the finds I've made, lots of gold with some silver in the mix along the way. I have been looking at the V3i and the E-trac as my next detector. Part of me...
