    Equinox died doing update

My Equinox failed the update and won't power on. I contacted Mineelab through customer service link and after some back and forth got an RMA number and told to send it to PA for diagnosing and options / charges? I'm obviously under warranty (registered with them early this year). Did you guys...

    Garrett Ace 350 for sale

Essentially brand new. Won it in a hunt. Previous owner won it at the hunt year before, assembled it, swung it only a couple times, and then passed away a month later. His family donated it back to the same hunt for this year's prizes. I don't really need the detector as I have two others...

    Need Some Help

Just a quick question, but do you think the signal given by the Vision was as good as the Etrac on that dime?

    Video - White's Vision - 2009 Treasure Show

I'm agreeing with you a bit. I've never thought the DFX was good on depth, and I've had one for...7 years? The old Eagle Spectrum handily whoops it on depth every time by roughly 50%. The DFX, however, handily spanked the Eagle Spectrum on identifying nickels and better eliminating...

    Video - White's Vision - 2009 Treasure Show

Ok, I'm missing it...HOW exactly do you tell it's on edge?

    Price of Vision

They can be adjusted by turning the volume on the detector down.

    Zinc pennys and bottlecaps.

Not enough difference in my opinion. That size estimate will be impacted by depth, just like how a can that's deep might read as a silver quarter...

    Zinc pennys and bottlecaps.

Still like to see an Indian penny. I have problems with those as they frequently come in as bottlecaps as well. Like to see what the Vision shows on them.

    Some target testing with Pics

You aren't going to get a better look at a target than with it NOT buried. If anything, VDI confidence would be worse in the ground as you have the ground itself to contend with.

    Some target testing with Pics

Things I notice.... 1) The VDI confidence percentage thing seems pretty gimmicky and not something to be relied on. I mean, in an air test, a silver dime had a 2% VDI confidence percentage? Again, I think we're back to how well it locks on the display and the sound over really using that as...

    Whites Vision Eye Candy

So can someone explain that knows about the Vision what's going on when as in that one picture you get a reject in 2 frequencies and a strong accept in the third....what does that mean, and what is the probable target? I've got a lot of questions looking at those pics, but we'll begin with that...

Masking, Depth and the Inevitable Comparisons

I read something about this in the last week, but I can't remember where, that the "test" is more gimmick than fact. It had to do with if the coin was on top of our behind the iron when facing the coil, and how the detector could be set to just knock out iron but putting a big plate of iron in...

    Netbook/Vision compatability?

Sounds like a hassle to me. But then again, I hate cell phones. Being able to share programs wirelessly with other users of the same detector hunting with me physically is all I'd ever need, and White's came through.

    Bigfoot

Jimmy said it would be when production resumes. However, someone on another forum talked with them about pre-ordering a Bigfoot, as long as he had it sometime before CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR, and the guy said he couldn't promise that...nor that they'd finally iron out the issues even. My concern...

Masking, Depth and the Inevitable Comparisons

Soil does make a difference though, but it would be nice if it was tested this way in several areas of the country. I kind of hate this idea that you must buy one and if you don't like it or find it doesn't live up to claims, sell it and take the money hit like it's no big deal. I think there'd...

New Jimmy Sierra Video (Whites VISION Spectra)

Ah, ok, I got distracted by the jumping and the first video of one actually running.

    Ground Tracking

I remember someone talking about an area in CA (park) that is terrible. The DFX would not work, an Explorer would, as would an MXT. For the MXT, it was all about the ground tracking. I'd really have to go searching to see if I can find the name of it again, but it was one example where...

Who ARE the engineers behind the Vision...

and what detectors have they worked on in the past?

    Hey Larry Fillman

The wireless headphones are White's proprietary. If you want wireless, you use theirs and it will work just on the Vision and new machines from White's in the future. If you only want to have one set that works on both Minelab and White's, continue using your favorite corded set with the Vision.

New Jimmy Sierra Video (Whites VISION Spectra)

<cough cough> I don't want to come off as critical, but in watching that video as he talks about the "Live Controls" I can't help but notice VERY quick flashes on the spectragraph display of signals that aren't registering a VDI number or anything, but I'm still seeing those signals in what I...
