    Cane or Umbrella handle

I cant tell. It appears to be filled with muck and rust. If I clean it a bit, I might be able to see what's in there.

    Cane or Umbrella handle

I found this cool handle in a creek. Not even with my detector, I managed to just eyeball it, along with a coke bottle and a marble. I took it to a jeweler and they told me it was copper, lead, and zinc, which is a shame because I was hoping it would be silver. Probably early 1900s.

    Hallowed Ground

    Mind blowing finds on beach!!!!

I was thinking this too. The fact that the dates are so close and the condition so good suggests they might be from a seeded hunt. That and the fact that no other coins/artifacts were found.

The carving looks like it says P.CSH.D July 18. 1691 It could also be 1891, it's hard to say what the second digit it. Also, the J in July...

    Hallowed Ground

Hello, all. I was curious to know if anybody knows whether there are special rules associated with digging/metal detecting hallowed ground. I'm just a Baptist, so I don't know much about how hallowed ground works, only that Anglicans and Catholics seem to care about it. While visiting a historic...

    Printing Plate in the Creek

I've found 2 other pieces of printing plates around this area before, but this is by far the nicest one.

    Printing Plate in the Creek

During a river hunt I stumbled across a nearly complete lead printing plate, probably from the early 1900s. Its condition is excellent for having been submerged for nearly a century, so I donated it to a local museum with a printing press exhibit. I reversed the image so it can be read better.
