Got Out Today To Do Some Coin Hunting.

Our gold is from the glaciers. It's pretty well uniform in size until you get to the rocky mountains west of Edmonton.

Got Out Today To Do Some Coin Hunting.

North Saskatchewan River. It begins in the rocky mountains. I am using drop riffle matting from a door mat. Here's a video of that system -

Got Out Today To Do Some Coin Hunting.

Thanks! I was using my highbanker to get that gold. 3 1/2 hours of digging. It's been a crazy spring weather wise....cold, hot, rain, ice, hail.

Got Out Today To Do Some Coin Hunting.

I managed to find exactly $5.00 in cash. It's going towards my annual gold purchase, a tradition I have had for many years. And, go figure......I eyeballed a little 2" x 2" plastic bag with a little doll figurine in it. And, it turned out there was also a stone in it, which was a small piece...

Garrett Goldmaster 24K as a coin / jewelry / relic machine

My experience using pulse induction detectors for relic, coins and jewelry was successful in areas where there was little trash. And also in places which were hunted out, including most of the trash. That left the deepest signals within reach of my PI machines.

    Question about unspendable pennies!

Our Canadian banks still accept them. They get melted down and recycled.

    Question about unspendable pennies!

I used to take great pride taking the most rotted, dilapidated, rusted, partial zinc-stink clad to the bank and use it to save for a gold coin purchase. We haven't had pennies minted since 2012. Life is so much better without them, less kee-bends, less pain after a day's hunt.

Here's A Link Of Garrett Searcher Archives Going Back To 2001

Has anyone ever submitted an article to the Garrett Searcher ? There are a lot of long time Garrett users following this forum, I thought it would be cool if some of them identified themselves as having done so. I have written some. Heck, the SEARCHER goes back to 2001...

I Finally Got Out.......Was Too Much Snow, Too Cold & Car Problems.

I finally got out today, to search a huge hill covered with ice and snow. Before I left, I updated my machine to the latest firmware #9.13. I imediatley noticed a difference with how it operates. Using the Viper coil, there was a noticeable difference in that the sensitivity was increased, and...

    Ripper coil incoming

I used mine for most of the summer. Due to it's smaller size, it is such a sensitive beast, and is perfect for finding good targets amongst trach areas. It got me a nice 1919 silver dime at about 7 inches late last year. And such a blessing to use in the woods amongst tree saplings and brush...

Can You Imaging How Many Good Finds At Cuban Beaches Could Be Had If Detecting Was Allowed?

Great story! Pushing 90, and still at it. Metal detecting is such a healthy way to age.

Can You Imaging How Many Good Finds At Cuban Beaches Could Be Had If Detecting Was Allowed?

Good to hear from you Willy! Most photos you see of Cuba include a nice old US car in mint condition.

Can You Imaging How Many Good Finds At Cuban Beaches Could Be Had If Detecting Was Allowed?

I don't want to inject any politics here, however, if there was ever a friendly takeover of Cuba, there must be truckloads of cash, relics and gold jewelry buried there from a forever time. You think that the beaches would be flooded with detectorists if detecting was allowed? Hell, I would be...
