1.26 oz Nugget Found with GPX 5000

Kind of slow here so I thought we could use a nugget photo. This is a 1.26 oz nugget I had just dug on Potosi Creek, a tributary of Ganes Creek, Alaska in 2011. I had a tight hole going so probed ahead with the Garrett Pro Pointer so as to not put my pick into the nugget. Found with a Minelab GPX 5000 and Nugget Finder 16" round mono super light coil.

Very nice Steve.......hopefully more to follow ???

Tony.

It would be nice if your trip this year can yield more of the yellow stuff. Hope to see the photo's.

There being that particular creek, yes. The bedrock is mostly shale and slate. Pretty common in Alaska. You guys see lots of iron rich red ground, we see lots of iron poor black ground.
