10 inch coil

They told me from Bounty Hunter I would gain about a 1 !/2 inches or so depending on all other factors. It isn't so much about depth for me(I got a 10 incher on my Landstar now) It will help cover more ground in less time. Most the coins I get are in the 4 to 6 inch range which I know I would have got with my 8 incher. But you will notice the time difference when covering an area. The only other factor I don't like is the weight difference. Doesn't seem like much at first but after a few hours you can really tell. It also seems easier to get multiple targets under the larger coil. Which may make you thick your picking up something to large for a good target. If you get one recommend swinging low and slow. It seems to help on target separation. Don't even try to use it on ground with a lot of trash. Hope this helps don't have any regrets getting mine.

hi ricky, yeah, the 10" mag coil is well worth the money. you can expect another 2 - 3" in good ground, sometimes more. it's like buying a new machine! it doesn't like trashy areas - no big coil does. hh,

I agree with pack rat and grey ghost, I own lonestar with a 10" and do see a little depth increase but the real gain is covering more ground quicker. I have had some problems pinpointing at times but it really hasnt been that big a deal. hh!

I agree with Junkfinder 2000. I bought one for my Land Star. When air testing I only get another inch. It's great for covering more ground, but I have had trouble with accurate pinpointing compared to the 8" coil. Usually around the parks I hunt, (which are trashy anyway) when I start with the 10", I use it for 5 min & then get frustrated & go back to the 8'er. Now the 10 just sits in the garage. I suppose I'd use it more if I was hunting remote areas.

I get more depth with the stock Ace250 coil than the 10" Lonestar coil.

Out of frustration, I switched back to the 8" permanently.

Honestly, I would not recommend it for normal city hunting. Save the cash.

Thanks everyone guess i should have mentioned it will be used a lot on the dry sand at Gulf of Mexico, Fl .

I get between 20% to 25% better depth with the 10" over the standard coil. I use it in parks, at the beach (dry sand), and a lot of other venues. When you use the coil for long enough, you can pinpoint and recover targets easier. I would love a coil of +15" to 18". It would enable the detection of deeper targets that are out of reach of all but the P.I. units, and enable a good volume of beach to be detected too. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:
