I know it's gonna be hard for you Steve. I know what you are going through. Tim had about 17 years in at Gulf States Steel when they closed the doors of the plant. Sold out to some Japanese companies who turned around and shut the plant down and sold all of the equipment. We lost income, his insurance, retirement, profit sharing, vacation pay that was owed, the money the company was SUPPOSED to have been matching in 401-K... the whole bit. Also, the year that Tim I got married (almost 26 years ago), the plant where my daddy had worked since he was a teenager closed their doors putting the workers out on the street. I KNOW it's a tough thing to go through! Loss of income, security, etc. Leaving friends behind that you've worked with isn't an easy thing either. I will be praying for you and your wife. God is MORE than able to carry you through this! Turn it over to Him and He will see you through.

But give Him the praise for the 21 plus years you had and look forward to what He has in store for you. Prayers for all of you.

Memorial Day weekend saw a motorcycle/car accident here at Houghton Lake. Bad intersection...too many accidents. The motorcyclist had one foot almost totally severed from his leg, concussion, chest/rib injuries and had to be air lifted to a different hospital. He was from Brighton,MI so am sure family down there didn't know what happened up here till later.

OK Word of advice everyone should heed at this point...If you carry a cellphone add an entry called ICE and put the number of whoever you want notified in case of emergency (ICE).

Paramedics and hospitals now look for ICE on your cellphone as it helps them get more info about you and also notify your emergency contact that there has been an accident.

Keep the faith that God is with you and whoever will let them lean on Jesus, too! Since your shoulder is so bad, I think this is a way for you to be healed without damaging it again! I still say that anything could happen between now and the closing date and keep the plant going, so don't give up on having a work place, whether there or in another one! God Bless! Betty
