10 = Silver?

Close to 2 yrs ago only had my Safari about 1 month my Brother In law asked if I could try to locate a Silver Tiffany ring my niece lost in their front yard.
I gave it a shot & was looking for that high silver reading & tone. searched for several hours with no success. About a month later I told my Brother In Law I wanted to try again. This time he had a similar ring she had bought to replace the lost one so I was able to take a reading of the ring & was very surprised to see it was reading a 10, because of the way it was made like a chain. Anyway I was on my next to last pass of gridding the front yard when I got a nice solid 10 reading. Popped the plug & there was MS Tiffany staring up at me. The ring ad been lost for 7 yrs & was about 3" deep. Don't pass up those 10's you may be surprised, I have dug Old Chinese coins that read 10 & some tokens that read 10
 
That is amazing! Even though it's made as you say like a chain, I would have bet that it would have an ID in the upper 30's.....38-39, just because it's all linked/soldered together. We can be sure that if it's Tiffany, it'll be marked 925 Sterling silver. Never heard of silver I.D-ing so low!!
 
Another guy I know said his wife has the same ring & he got the same results with his MDer, it read in the foil range. It's definitely Tiffany
 
Just out of interest, I got the only Tiffany silver ring I have (detected it on a beach aprox; 2 yrs ago) just to see what it registered. It I.D-ed at 38 and occasionally 39. Of course, your ring is of a different construction but 'm still intrigued how it came in at 10. I'll be looking in the future to hopefully detect one like yours!:thumbup:
 
I can't explain why it read 10. I was told it was because of how its made with the individual links of chain. I thought it was very odd also. Its is not a solid ring it is flexible like a chain
