100 year old hat badge, not bad for a noob with an E-Trac

I went out this evening for a short hunt in the same park I found that giant silver ring yesterday. I am still digging a lot of pennies - lots of work - all post 1980's pennies too. Then this at 8" deep:

Which seems to be a hat badge from the Royal Rifles 8th Battalion 1904-1920 and is in terrific shape considering how old it is....
