Hi All: Well went out yesterday with a good friend hunting over in his area,we hit a very old fairgrounds, we were a little dissappointed due to the area's lack of rain, post fair hardness of the site but we produced lots of coins. I used the 6X8 for two hours there and found it to be good on separation but not outstanding. It seems to do well and I did find wheats down to 6 plus inches deep but in all fairness the post fair ground and dryness inhibited us a bit. A good jackhammer was needed to make recoveries so we abandoned that site and went to a park, The park was clean very little trash and it produced some nice finds. I switched back to the stock coil there due to the lack of heavy trash in the area I chose to hunt in. I will use the 6X8 today in some of my favorite spots and then be able to give a better report but as of now we will leave it at that.
Now I did find a merc and a nice heart with small diamonds (6) in a heart shape on the locket, wife likes that but on one did I thought I had hit silver dollar two for the year but not to be. I did find something a bit different though and at 4" deep standing on edge it made the heart pump a little faster. Old Ron Reagan commem. Now I guess since it read 08/9-48/49
on my E-tac and on Ray's Exterra 44 we call it a silver, I got on line and checked it out and is says it is richly layered with silfver so is it a full silver or a half? Whatever was fun to find and found another heart shaped item, funny how certain days end up themed for me,hearts to my sweetheart day she has em both and grinned a bit.I picked up 3 bucks plus in clad, pennies and such, lots of chrome parts from the demo derby, small chromed pieces read close to silver and I did notice some response changes using the 6x8 SEF again, lowered numbers on dimes and quarters again. Well take care all and Drodda the hunt is on. :minelab::detecting:hardrock P.S. The commem coin is called Ronald Reagan Double Eagle, found lots out about them on line. Hardrock
