10x12 sef coil on the way

I got a 10x12 sef coil on the way, I also have the 6x8 which I use 85% right now. I really like the way the sef coil separates in "iron" soil, so I'm hoping the bigger sef will perform just as well. I hunt a lot in "iron" soil and the pro (stock) coil is more suited for clean soil, IMHO. The main reason for the bigger sef to me, is to cover more ground and get more depth. Right now I can pull dimes at 8"-10" with the 6x8, so I'll see how the 10x12 works hopefully better. I'm using the Safari now but will be getting an E-trac in a few months and will use these coils with it. Anyone else using the 10x12 sef, give some opinions...?

I know that Bryce has high praise for the 10x12. I believe that he is able to run it much hotter than the stock coil. I will probably eventually replace the stock coil with one because I have a good mix of clean/trashy sites here.

I am very interested in the 6x8 for my trashy site coil. I have two parks in town that date back to the mid 19th century, but they are severely trashy. In your opinion, could you get away from owning an X5 or EQ2 by just owning a 6x8? I know that Bryce really considers it a mid size coil, but it sounds like it might be able to sniff around in the heavy trash.

The 6x8 in my opinion is excellent in heavy trash, I can get 10" depth readings in moist soil but that's about the max, give or take. The smaller coils are good for getting into tight spots like fences or posts and lighter to swing. I no nothing about the X5 or EQ2. It's a nice 2nd coil to have for hunting trash/iron spots.
