10X12 SEF

Tried the 10X12 SEF coil today and was pleased. It seems to lock on the coins solid and make the deep rusty nails sound and ID iffy. I think for the hammered parks it's a winner. 16 merc, 04 injun, wheats and toasted token.

Nice finds Jim!!! Sorry i didn't make it out with you guys that one Sunday morning... I had to head off to work!!! You will fall even more in love with it the more you use it!!!!!
I am a little scared for the fact i know some one else has the 10x12 in my area :look: good luck man

Just goes to show that there is still some goodies when you have the right accessories. Hope you find more with your new toy! Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

just ordered mine today. are there any settings i should change on my se when useing the S.E.F 10 x 12 coil?

Your post reminds me of a couple of weeks ago when I was hunting and got these two low tone / pop can lid type signals about 3-4 inches apart. I ran the SEF coil really slow over both targets and got a high tone in between them. I couldn't believe it....cursor floated top right then BAM to the bottom and back to the top again on the back swing. Low, High, Low. I dug the hole and a nice silver Rosie pops out in my disbelief! That coil is ONE BAD MAMA JAMMA!

Duane

BTW - Do you like butter or good 'ol Jelly on your Toasted Tokens????? LOL

Have Fun!

I use Bryce's settings on my XS, IM-6, sens 26 semi auto, gain 10, deep and fast off. Move like a snail and listen for the high chirps then do the short fast sweeps. The SEF coil seems to lock on to coins even from different angles. The main thing is to hunt like you know coins are there and you'll find them.

...a 2-hour hunt in a park so pounded it has hosted numerous club hunts, plus many long hours by individual detectorists. and that's only what i know about!

these were found in a small area i had systematically scoured :sadwalk: with my DFX, 3 seasons ago. i don't get a chance to hunt here very often anymore.

i didn't pinpoint real well, and yes, i scratched the Barber. it sounded like a wheatie and i wasn't as careful as i should've been
(for that reason, i'm glad it was already quite worn

Sweet sangamon!!!!
The coil takes a few hunts to get familiar with!! But it's a keeper!! Keep us posted what you think!!!

yes, Wednesday i told my new coil to locate silver, regardless of difficulty.

this Merc was 10" below the grass, and i wasn't convinced until i dug it.

if anyone cares, i changed my sensitivity from semi-auto 24 to manual 20

manual 22 some...but always end up going right back to semi auto 26.

Lots of options to try though...I will keep on "playing"

Nice dig by the way

Nice find! I've heard so much good about this line of coil and read the forum as to great finds that I decided to order me one of these coils today to try my luck.
