11" coil....why?

Aaron

Well-known member
Maybe it's me, but I see no need for a 11" coil. I already have the big one, why do they see a need for a in between coil?

When I heard a new coil was coming out I thought for sure it was going to be smaller than the stock.

For me personally, the large coil they have now is too heavy and too large for areas I hunt. I also was not impressed with the little difference it yielded in my areas and ground as far as depth. When I had my Etrac, I liked the 11" procoil so I'm hoping if they do come out with an 11" DD coil, it will be lighter and less cumbersome than the current large coil and go a little deeper than the 9".

It'll probably be lighter than the 13" coil but as far as depth I wouldn't count on it being anymore deeper than what .5? The 13" is only around maybe 1.5 deeper than the stock coil. The main purpose of the big coil is to cover more ground. The stock coil usually, not always, gets enough depth for where I hunt.

Id like see some kind of a 6" or 6x4" coil. The 9" is a great coil for sure, but I believe most of my sites would be better down-sizing, rather than up-sizing a coil.

I too would rather see a 6" or even a 5" coil. If you have toe stock and large coil don't see a need for it.
