11" DD coil problems

Hello
I just traded 1/6/13.. my TEK G2 for an TEK Omega but i kept the 11" DD coil from my G2 to use on the Omega.
The 11"DD coil worked great on the G2 ... But when i put the 11'DD on the Omega the second i turn it on the Omega Goes nuts/ Overloads and just beeps and sounds like a fire alarm....the 5"DD and the stock 10" con.coil work just fine on the Omega....anyone got any ideas why the 11"DD will not work on my Omega ??
Gary

There's several variations but they use the same mold and sometimes the same plug but they don't interchange. They should have made some outward way to identify them by markings or visual clues. I predict it'll be a mess 20 years from now when coils and machines get separated and owners don't recall what's what.

Will there must be something wrong whth the Omega or the 11"DD coil from the G2...i have read a lot of posts here that state that the two will work togeather....sence the stock 10" com. and the 5"DD coil work on the omega i suspect the 11" DD coil from the G2...it worked fine on the G2... or maybe it didn`t i used the G2 all last summer and was not inpressed at all with the depth.
Thanks for the reply

I Call First Texas this morning and talked with Felix and he gave me an RA#...so i will send the, Teknetics 11"DD coil in tommrow morning...it will be back way before the 2013 hunting season starts here in N.Y.

Hey Ed
I agree with you about the marking or lack of on the coils....or maybe one of them smalt phones can tell me heck there is an App for everything.
I hope you have a good 2013 season once it warms alittle cold here too.
I`m looking froward to using this Omega .
Im just wondering if the coil was bad, but worked a little on the G2 cuz i lost a 10K tiny gold stick pin in a neighbor`s yard in my first test and the G2 could not find it had to get my CZ5 after 15 minutes of trying with the G2.
If it was just a half bad coil that would mean i did not have a chance all last season and neather did the G2.

Felix will fix you up. Hard to say with so many variables. I always try some air tests for depth. It gives a sort of standard to compare to later on and it won't matter where you're at. Some soils do cost depth. On the stickpin, did you try the G2 again once the CZ5 located it?

Let us know when it comes back how it behaves.

I got a hold of Felix today and First Texas. is sending me a new coil under Warranty ships tommrow ... so it worked out well ....to darn cold and frozen/snowy here to hunt anyway, but i`ll be ready when it warms a little.
Gary

Cool! Good service response is crucial and I'm glad Felix and First Texas got you fixed up. Make sure to try the new coil compared to the old one, even if it's an air test or some coins and junk tossed in the snow. Knowing how it works before you hit the fields to do some serious hunting will give you an edge. It'll also verify that all is well with time to correct things if not.

The coil from the G2 was bad,so they gave me a new 11"DD coil....every thing works fine now....no wonder the G2 did not get any depth.was very unhappy with the G2....and just hope the Omega runs better than the G2.
Two weeks from N.Y. to Texas, fixed not bad.
