11" DD or 5x10 DD for my Delta??

Bucksport

I have read great things about both coils. I just can't make up my mind about which one to buy next. I will be mainly park hunting for coins in very stable soil. I currently have the stock 8" conc coil. What would steer me in one direction or the other? The price on the 5x10 is a bit cheaper, but performance will be my main concern. Thanks for any input.

Has anyone used the 5x10 on the Delta?

You know my opinion on this one... the 11" is deeper, right? What are the arguments in favor of the 5x10? The only qualm with teh 11" I have is that it's not always the most accurate pinponter, other than that, it will supercharge your Delta!

Yeah you have been tearing it up with the 11. The 5x10 is a closed coil and a bit slimmer by the looks. I have heard that it is a very stable coil, and super sensitive to smaller objects. I was just hoping for some first hand reports with it being used on the delta. It is also about 25 bucks cheaper. So if the depth is about the same it would be worth it.

I have used both on my Gold Bug .
It depends were your hunting , in the open the 11 is a little deeper .
Under power lines , the fact that the 5x 10 is smaller makes it better in EMI.
In trash , nails bush the smaller coil wins. Might not have helped ya but ya never know.

Thanks gman, this is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
