I'm impatiently awaiting the arrival of my new e-trac. I haven't invested in any extra coils yet, but how well does the 11" DD Search Coil do in trash?

Pretty well if you have the ET set up right...........Set it to High Trash/Ground Difficult.........and Fast on...........Then with a slow sweep .You should be able to pick the goodies from the trash with the Pro coil.

I will second that. McNickle has hit the nail on the head. Learn what the settings do (Andy's book is GREAT), utilize them and slow down your sweep speed and you can pick deep targets out between trash like no other detector I have ever hunted.
The sef 6x8 is also a deadly combo with this machine in heavy trash. It still gets very respectful depth and helps separate better because of its size.

I have a 5" SunRay coil that I use with my Explorer and I have had it on my Etrac maybe 2 times if that tells you anything! I love the Pro coil anywhere!

I have to disagree with the above posters ..I have had my Etrac for two weeks and the 11" coil that comes with it is really bad in trashy parks, sounds like a pinball machine..Theres just too much crap under the big coil....I couldn't hunt with it at all in one park, I buried a quarter at 6 inch's and it wouldn't pick it up due the the nulls and trash content under the coil.. I ordered a 8 inch sunray coil to see if that helps, if not I may have to go to the 5 inch

It takes tme to master. Slow down your sweep speed and listen for good ones. You will learn to love it. The pro coil is the bomb!!! I bought a 6" excellerator coil and its a waste of my time. Its up in the classifieds.

Bugalooob I like to think of the 11" pro coil as a windshield wiper on a car. Imagine a thin narrow line from the rear through the center and out to the front of the coil as your hot spot. Use the coil like this thin line is your coverage area not the outer perimeter of the coil. With some hours under your belt you will realize what a wonderful coil the 11" pro coil really is even in the trashiest of areas. I have the EQII 6" and the EQ 4.5x7. They are all fine coils too and will seperate the trash better than the Pro coil because of there small foot prints. But won't get the depth the 11" pro coil will. I have the Sun-ray 8" and I prefer the seperation of the pro coil to it.
