Went on a dirt fishing trip with my hunting partner and my 11 yr.old grandson. The three of us fished 3 yards. I found 53 cents in clad and a 13,23,27 and 56 wheaties. My partner found a like amt or better of clad and one wheatie. My grandson found 39 cents in clad and one coin that he pronounced Pawpaw, This is some kind of foreign coin. I told him it appeared to be a wheatie to me. Anyway we get back home and use a little detergent to clean it up. It is a 1909 Indian Head in very good condition. I thought I initially saw an S but it quickly disappeared. Anyway it was enough to set the hook deeper for a new dirt fisherman. An added bonus is that is the birthdate of my father, his great grandfather. I was as excited as he was but it quickly dawned on me that the older coins are pretty much, foreign coins to the younger generations. His coin is a keeper,he is a keeper and dirt fishing is a keeper.

Sounds like you have a life time dirt digger with you. I am happy to hear that he beat you with the oldest coin. Keep him going.. KEN
