111 degrees official temp at 4:40 pm and no measurable rain for over 7 weeks :hot:

Hope it cools some for you, but I imagine the ground will be like concrete I just saw on our weather station July was our third hottest since record keeping of over 120 years.

Yeah that stinks but fortunately the humidity dosen't look too bad. Here in NY when we have temps like taht the humidity is up there too, and its really hard to breathe. Stay cool and drink lots of water!! I have to work out in some nasty conditions all year long and paving in the summer is not fun at all. Thats why I do not go detecting this time of year. Why go out after a 10 hour day in the heat at work? Kinda sucks really.

112 here today. Haven't detected in over 2 months. It will takes DAYS of rain to soften the ground enough to hunt. Wish I had a lake to hunt in, but that's dried up too.

This summer sucks! I need to go dredging up in Colorado.
