12x10 SEF for the Sovereign Discontinued!?

By the way...I thought you got a coil cover with an SEF. I got one with my used 12x10 and my 15x12 but I don't use them anyway. You can save a good bit of weight by ditching the coil cover and using spray on bedliner (4 or 5 coats...make sure it dries really well between coats) to protect the coil. The 12x10 without a coil cover is lighter than the S-12, and the 15x12 without a coil cover is (from memory...weighed them a while back) lighter than the 10" Tornado. Plus never having to clean under the cover is another big bonus.
 
Looks like we have a debate about whether this coil has been discontinued again...

Hmmm...Just the other day I called and they said they still carry it for the Sovereign. Maybe the sales person couldn't find it on the website and assumed it was discontinued? Or maybe they meant it's out of stock at the moment? I'd ask for JW when you call as he seems to be the man when it comes to this sort of stuff. Anybody else care to call KellyCo and see what kind of answer they get? Like I said, even if they stopped carrying it for the Sovereign it doesn't mean Detech doesn't make it for the Sovereign anymore. You may have to order it from Joann Detectors in the UK or one of the other UK sources, or order it via one of the outlets who sell it new on Ebay.

I'm just glad I got mine. Really improves the performance of the Sovereign.

Hey Thank you Critterhunter, I just order my 12X10 coil from KelliCo, they are great, I ordered last night on the web and this morning i read your comment about free chiping so I call in for help on this and I was abel to get credit for the chipping so thanks to you I save $15.00.
These people at KelliCo are GREAT, it is on back order but the my coilis in the list.

Hey Critter. I use the tip of the coil. Years ago I used to use the center and I never was as acurate as I am with the tip as my pinpointing hotspot. I never even have to use the all metal /pinpoint switch, I just do the sovereign wiggle and drag the coil towards my toes. When it goes silent and threshold returns the target is right under the tip.

I can answer that. YES! it works great. I have one of Ron's 180 meters and it was all ready spot on calibrated with my SEF 10x12. I am sure that the Minelab meter works just as good with the SEF.

Elki, so now you are saying that Kellyco DOES still carry the 12x10? I'm confused, you said the other day that they didn't carry it anymore.

that Social Sale link expired early last summer, those prices are not being honored any longer, and who knows how long the coils will be on back order. You can go right to the manufacturers ebay listing and get the coils & coil covers delivered right from the factory in Bulgaria with a 2 year warranty.

Or whoever from Kellyco to come on here and set the record straight on this if they have them, or getting some in and when or are they just plain discontinued. I notice we haven't heard from JW for a while or the girl from Kellyco that was posting for a while. You would think they would want to keep everyone informed that is considering one before they decide to get something different.
 
Didn't a few of you guys just now get the Social Sale price for the 12x10 along with free shipping being a Findmall member?
 
Critterhunter, yes Kellico has the coil but only if you ordered under the SEF Special that you mentioned, they don't have it in stock But when you plase the order they said is on backorder but it is comming soon,
that is the reason they don't have it on the web, One of the sales person toll me that it was a shorage but they order a lot because they were out of them for some time allready and last time they order some they didn't ceme with the horder. but now they suppost to arrive soon.

By the way, I order the 12X15 and got an Email that is on its way. but still waiting on the 12X10. so it is available,
FYI, the sales person that I talked to please my order said that even the manufacturer in (Bulgaria, Country of manufacturing) had a shortage because didn't count on the big demand.
And I think is the same seller that is on the fee bay seling them for 180.00>

Kellyco on ebay is under aardvark metal detectors. they always seem to be out of SEF coils so I dont understand why they would pull the pics of them, the listings on them. It does make one wonder.
 
Yea Neil. these is call sale stragety to creat more demend for it, and you see it works perfect. by doing that they creat panic, resive more orders or phone calls and there is the reason to hick the prices.

I'm still waiting on the one I ordered.
 
Same here, I call yesterday because I order unother 12X10 for other machine and I ask about my order the sales lady (Leilani) said they are still waithing on their large order from Bulgaria, she said that they will have enough for everyone because they have a long list of orders to be filed. so maybe next week!
