I have one and use it to locate sites when covering a lot of ground.
As far as detecting depth I don't see a lot of benefit.
It is a bit toe heavy and does weigh a bit more than an 11".
It still separates well, but if there is a dense area of targets it will get confused.
I like it for what I use it for....
