13 HOUR BEACH HUNT

[TRIPLE-SSS]

HI EVERYONE,
I've been pretty busy the last 2 months and have not really had allot of time to do any detecting, married off both my daughter and son in July and august. I'm sure allot of you can realate to what I'm talking about. Finally with that behind me, I got out to the beach and hit the sand hard for about 13 hours. Following are my finds:
35 quarters
16 dimes
7 nickles
83 pennies
2 dollar Mexican Pecos
1 1 silver dollar
5 match box cars
1 sterling silver ear ring
and a whole lot of junk, flip tops, cans foil,and some Honda keys w/ alarm
Over all it was a pretty good day but it sure wore me out. Did not really find any rings like I was hoping to. I would like to share some info.never the less. It finally dawned on me that if your working an area and don't really get allot of hits, especially after allot of traffic on the beach, stop and hit another area. The locals have all ready scoped that area out. Find a more productive area that that has not been worked over. It really worked for me. One more thing, I have a GTI 1500 and hunt in the jewelry mode, It seems to pick up more than in the coin mode.I hope this info. helps a little.

sounds like a real nice hunt. 13 hours. i use a 1500 also, i don't know if i could swing it for that long. i do always hunt in jewelry mode. i feel more confident in the jewelry mode. i would hate to miss a ring or piece of jewelry just because i was hunting in coin mode. you may dig more trash but it can be worth it in the end. good luck.

Quite a score bud. I'd be in a basket if I hunted for 13 hours. The 1500 is a real goodie getter and my favorite Garrett.
