I got out yesterday with Dirtfishing Dave for my first full day of hunting for the new year here in Chicago land and it wasnt a disapointment. We hit a new spot and after 8 hours I had 9 mercs, 3 washingtons and a Franklin half. He ended up with 9 total silvers as well. It was a good day. TMAN...

well that was a good hunt. you better bring some of that luck back to Texas Thursday so when we go hunting Friday we come home with some silver or better yet pirate gold :buds:

It varied believe it or not. Most of the dimes and wheaties were around 6 or greater. I found 2 of the quarters at around 3 inches, and the other quarter about 4 inches, it had 2 mercs in the hole with it. The half came in at 4 inches I think but when I dug it, it was about 3. It rang up at 1/46. TMAN...

A silver day like THAT is a rare thing these days. Big congrats! I'd be pounding the heck outta that site!

I wish I found those coins at those depths, looks like they took a 4" layer of dirt off for you, was this a old home site or something like that? If it was a public park, there wouldn't be any of those silvers at those depths in my area. You gotta a great site...:smoke:

Not even a Rosie! :yikes: :super:

Fantastic hunt. Way to kick off the new year!!

Congrats,

Hopefully with the spots we got lined up that luck will follow me home and we find some goodies, I wonder if rum is still good after that many years.

Actually, the ground wasnt disturbed nor had it been. It was just luck we found a hot spot. It happens from time to time. Last year I hit a park near where I work and pulled 7 silvers in about an hour. Every signal was silver coin, then it dried up. I think the detecting stars were just lined up for this one. TMAN...

think we should just focus on not getting shot in the place we have planned lol. not the best place to hunt then if we make it out of those hills alive il just buy the rum in town. lol

Wow! That's a Monster Big Silver Day for sure!!! Major Congrats on all that beautiful Silver!

Dang TMan, I would say that is not unlucky at all. It has been a LOOOOOOOONNGGG time since I had a day like that.

Congrats on such a memorable hunt.

I can only hope I have a day like that. What a haul. Big congrats to you.
