1350 problem, anyone else?

When swinging from left to right, I notice that if I stopped hard on my swing it gives me a dollar tone and does anyone else have a problem with using rechargeable batteries? Sometimes my battery meter displays 2 bars remaining then it returns to a full bar. Nothing really major, I guess its just annoying

Make sure your coil wire has no play at all near the coil, as with the sudden stops it can move the wire enough to give you some falsing. You can always stable it with some tape. Take all your batteries out, and with a pencil eraser, rub each connector on the batteries and also on the battery holders. See if this helps. If you still have problems with the batteries, put them in the battery holder and put the terminals on your tong. And no it doesn't hurt...it's less the 6 volts. Now put some torque twist on the battery holder and see if the current stops while on your tongue. If it does, you probably have a faulty battery holder.

Thanks John!!!! I'm not sure about the batt. in my tongue part I'll ask the maid to do it

AS john stated it's probably movement in your coil cable. These Garretts are extremely sensitive to that cable if it moves. Try some regular batteries and see if the problem ceases. Also at what temps are you hunting in. Cold plays tricks with batteries.

Instead of tape go to the fabric store and get some double sided velcro strips. You know, the ones that are more like strapss. Then use those to strap the cable to the shaft. Do make sure you leave a little strain relief on the cable so it isnt torqued when you move you coil around.
