1350 shut downs automatically

Hey out there was wondering if anyone else has had their 1350 shut down automatically? I'll hear a beep and that's it. I just need to always remember to turn back on. It may happen 5-6 times in 1 day. I have had it in the shop and supposedly get fixed each time but getting tired of sending it in. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jeffp

It has a power saver feature and if you go 30 minutes without activating the pinpoint button it will turn off. are you sure this isnt the case?

If you're not activating the "power saver" feature have you tried rebooting your detector to alleviate the problem. Like any computer they get out of whack once in awhile.

I also have never heard of the the power saving feature. So - my 1500 has this as well? If it's mentioned in the owners manual, I must have missed it. Although it's never shut off during use, I'm alway afraid I might forget to turn it off after use.

I looked in my manual (GTI 2500) and it says does have an automatic shutoff after 10 minutes of inactivity which I never knew about either. I am trying right now to get it to automatically shut down to test it. I read the 1350 manual and it also has an auto shutoff but after 30 minutes. I can't imagine going more than a few dozen swings without detecting some piece of metal.

For the original poster: Sometimes when I have a lot of mud and dirt around my buttons weird things happen to my detector. Because the buttons stick probably. I generally do a factory reset anytime I change the batteries or change a coil. I never read anywhere that this is necessary. Check that the battery connections are nice and tight and clean too.

Back in 7 minutes........

My 2500 did not shut down after 10 minutes. I am going to start over again and see what happens. I tried it without a coil connected so I wouldn't get a false but apparently the 2500 warns the user when a coil is not present. Nice feature actually. Never knew about that one either.

I left my GTI 2500 on for 30 minutes. I had sensitivity all the way down and had it set in zero discriminate so I would hear if it detected a target on any notch. It did not nor did it shut down by itself. I'd love to hear if anybody can get theirs to auto shutdown.

So far no problems with mine, i run it basically daily for all of summer, with a battier change with standard Duracell's
