1350 to the rescue

I went out with one of my other metal detectors the other day. But it had only the standard coil on it and I was in an area I did not belong in, with anything much bigger than a probe... So I went home and picked up the 1350 with the baby coil and went back. I started finding coins right away, but then I got this signal that told me it was 7.5 to 8 on the scale but toned high on every pass. I had to check this one out. Maybe a keeper... I dug a plug and from just past the plug I seen what looked like a strap. I dug down around it and pulled up a Solid Copper bracelet. In all the years of metal detecting I have never seen one before. I put it in my pouch, and continued hunting for a short while. Sure do like these small coils in a trashy area.

Yes thats cool, that 4.5 inch coil is a good earring getter also, it can find very small items. Also I find it to be pretty deep on my 1350. Larger Garrett coils dont do well around trash or iron ,(especially the ID machines), but when I put that little 4,5 on, its a whole new ball game. I love the 1350 /small coil combo!!!

What do you mean by "an area you don't belong in"?

What do you mean by "an area you don't belong in"?

What I mean by that is: I needed a smaller coil for the area and All I had was a big coil for that machine.
Sometimes when hunting areas you can not swing your coil more than three to five inches or less and find another target. Using a big coil in an area like that the coil See's multiple targets and gives the user of the metal detector wrong information. Example the coil See's a nail, and a 14 kt gold ring. The Nail has hidden the 14kt Gold ring. Something they call masking. In some cases the use of a smaller coil can be a benefit.
