13th Century coins found with Deepstar

These coins were part of a cache of over 300 hammered silver coins found in a North Wales beach by a hunter using a Deepstar. All the coins were at depths of 15in or more and beyond the range of other detectors tried, including PI's. The mystery is, how they came to be there.I favour the theory that they were originally buried on land which over the centuries has been eroded by the sea. However, they could have been dropped from a boat, or maybe on a boat that sank. Doubt we will ever know for sure.
Eric.
