14K ring found today! I love FBS sounds!

Found this 14K ring today with my Safari!:clapping: It's small but it's gold with hopefully a small diamond.....got to get it tested. It displayed an I.D. of 12 and although I retrieved a good amount of pulltabs and assorted junk before I got this ring, the sound was a little different to the other targets. I credit the FBS sounds (and of course, the other features) that make Minelabs really great detectors allowing the user to decide to dig or not dig.
When I first started, the sounds drove me nut's, you know what I'm talking about right?lol!! BUT......as soon as I embraced all those crazy tone's, I started to detect great targets including the gold ones! Have fun detecting everyone!
P.s. High trash and detecting in AM. with the stock 11 inch coil.

congrats, would you say the tone was lower or higher than pulltabs. I have compared Pulltabs to gold rings & I can't hear much of a difference in the sound. but it could be my ears are not what they use to be when I was younger.

Congrats, GS! What a beautiful ring! I found a diamond ring while doing a test of the GTI 2500 back in 2003. My ring was not as nice as yours, but pretty sweet none the less. What a great feeling.
Happy hunting,
Mark

I know what you mean, MM. I had surgery last week (stapedectomy) to restore the hearing in my left ear. I could not hear the low threshold tone on the safari with that ear. It will be nice to hear from both sides of the headphones again!

Thanks everyone! Surf n turf......no it wasn't a beach find this time....it was from a local park with a sand lot where there are some kids play equipment, swings etc;. I always dig almost everything in sand anyway and I did retrieve a few tabs before I got this but seeing an I.D. of 12 perked my interest quickly!!.
Mark, it's always a thrill to get a gold ring and the thrill never gets old!! and I hope you have some good headphones that will help you to hear those signals clearly.
MM.....my hearing is not as sharp as it was years ago but I'm blessed to still have decent hearing which I'm thankful for. For me, my advice (for what it's worth)! is to dig anything that sounds a little different. There is also something else to recognise. A ring will have a more solid signal, unlike a pulltab. To me, gold targets do sound slightly different. I've tested quite a few gold rings under the coil and compared them to a variety of pulltabs which anyone can do. There is also always an element of pure luck!!!

Kschae4....I haven't got around to get it tested yet. I recently bought 2 Craftsman Atlas metal working lathes to recondition (my other hobby)!!!! and they have took over my time the last few days but maybe this week, I'll get around to it!! Good to see your still out there detecting!
