15" t-2 coil has anybody tried it?

HI, I have'nt posted in a while, but I was just reading the posts on the 15" coil.... I've tried the bigger coils before on different brand detectors and the weight of them has always been the issue that brings me back to using the stock or smaller coils..... that being said, The T2 SE with the 5" coil or the stock 11"DD coil have always been sufficient for me and never dissapoints me with finds........ I'm afraid most guys will find that size coil in the closet more than on their machines after the new wears off of them and the weight difference against the stock coils starts to kick in.... Just my opinion......

Cal your NEXT:please:
J you have some good points but it goes both ways ,
A small coil can do things a big coil cant
and a good big coil can do things a small coil cant.:stars:

for a larger coil in the past.... I believe I'd spend a little extra and add another detector to my arsenal instead of buying the 15". My finds with the 11DD & 5" are good enough for me at this point.... Just my opinion

This coil isn't for everyone, no doubt about it, it's another tool to have in your arsenal if you have a use for it.

I think I will have a use for it, as coins tend to be very deep at some sites here. For instance, at one spot I dug a measured SLQ at 11" with my F75 LTD. This spot predates SLQs by another 60+ years. If SLQs are that deep, just imagine how deep barbers are, let alone seateds. Depth is my main motivation for acquiring this coil, another detector in this price range isn't going to get the coin. My other motivation is that the 11" DD doesn't do well in mineralized soil on dimes/half dimes in my area (after about 6" they tend to get pulled down into the foil/iron range), I'm also hoping that this coil will have better resolution on deeper dimes, although that's typically counter-intuitive of a larger coil.

We shall see.....THE BIG QUESTION IS WHEN IS THIS PUPPY SHIPPING :drinking:

Cal,

You're as impatient as I am. I've scoured the internet and haven't seen any reports yet. Hopefully any day now...
