15x12

Anyone used this coil on the xterra pro......looks a good bet for the beach.Great ground coverage obviously but im wondering how the depth compares to the standard 12"coil.Cheers guys.

Oh well,i bit the bullet and bought one anyway. In an air test i achieved nearly three inches more on a very fine ladies wedding band from around 8 to around 11 inches and this was the same for a number of targets i tested.I tried to test my heavyweight wedding ring but because i've been eating too many pies i could'nt get the bloody thing off my finger.😳
What surprised me the most was the sensitivity to tiny objects......i have a piece of aluminium about 5mm by 2mm that i found with my Sov and i thought the 15x12 would'nt really pick this up......wrong,it picks it up easily.....so much for my idea that i may find less tiny bits of ally, very impressive all the same.
Obviously it weighs a bit more than the standard 12 inch coil but it doesn't feel uncomfortably heavy.
So initial impressions are good......a good bit of extra depth,(in air),excellent sensitivity,a much larger search area and not as heavy as i thought it would be.
I'm hoping to go to the beach this Sunday so i will post my impressions of it in real detecting conditions and hopefully show you the twenty rings i'm dreaming of digging up.😁

Part one of Sundays hunt.......not exactly the 20 rings i was hoping for but the 15x12 performed well as you can see from the tiny bits of ally crap......very sensitive. The pound coin gave a very loud signal at around 8 inches, this would be detected at much greater depths and the other coin, some sort of middle east region currency, also gave a huge signal.
The bullet looks like a .303 which are found on our local beaches regularly as they were used to train troops for DDay......they are similar to those in France so ideal to give the troops an insight to what they were facing.
Back out later for part 2,will post pics if i find anything else.
