17" coil sensitivity and seawater mode

I just got my 17" coil and took it for a spin at the beach today. I noticed that I had to bump the sensitivity quite a bit down from my usual setting of that with the stock 11" coil, also it chatters quite a bit in the surf even when I lower the sensitivity as well, and seawater mode is "on". Anyone else have similar issues?

The last time at the beach for me with the 17" coil I had the sens. all the way to 30 in manual, and not a problem. I hunt So. Cal. beaches, dry sand, wet sand and into the shallow surf, about a foot deep. Hope it gets better for you.

Same for me, no chatter, I can run between 22 and 26 some areas 30. The real heavy black sand is the killer here in southern California. check and make sure you tightened your coil plug good and tight, in fact check both connections. Good luck, Gene

Wasn't your 11 inch coil doing the same thing, or was that someone else?
