1775 King George III half penny

Well-known member
Finally broke through the 1800 barrier and found this 1775 King George III half penny at 8-9 inches on property that I had hit pretty hard over the last few years but obviously had missed with the land star. TID bounced between 36-37 but the tone sounded higher, like a barber or merc dime. Thought it was a slug or a washer about quarter size, but when brushed some soil away,I saw the patina and waited until I got home to clean it. Quick bath in both warm soapy water then olive oil before pics taken. Stats:coin/auto-sens/high density. Thanks for viewing.

Unbelievable Ken! That is awesome. Congrats on that. Before the birth of our nation. The same year that the Marine Corps was formed! You sure you want to go to California now?
Great job,
Bunker

Very cool find indeed. When you come to visit Billy:smoke:bob we'll have to try to find some time to unearth some west coast treasure.
