1793 Chain Cent

Went digging today with Digsgti to my best old coin spot & dug a Chain cent. It's in bad shape but you can make it out to be a chain cent. The obverse is smooth. Ground was dry today, we weren't getting much depth. I didn't know what I had until we stopped at a store to get a drink & I washed it off. I was like a Chain Cent wow. I was swinging my T2se with the 15"/12" SEF coil. HH TIM

I'm really surprised at the lack of response & the number of views that this post hasn't gotten. This coin is a find of a life time. Come on guys a gold ring has more views than a chain cent? HH TIM

n/t

I'll bet that there is a gold coin in their somewhere too buddy.

I took some better pictures of my chain cent. Enjoy & HH TIM

The find of a life time.:teknetics:

Awesome find for sure. Congrats

Great find !!
Am curious though, seeing how corroded it is, what setting did you find it in ??
Field, park, woods ?????
A lot of coppers coming out of fields are devastated by all the years of fertilizers and plowing.

Hi Tim,
I know you said the ground was dry and you weren't getting as much depth, but about how deep do you think your chain cent was ???
