I found this coin a month or so ago and it had a heavy black tarnish on it. I put it in olive oil and let it soak until last night. I noticed it had lightened up and that it may be silver. I started scraping it with my fingernail and the tarnish came off! I did the other side and saw a date of 1818!! Silver is always nice. This is the third 3 kreuzer I have found but this is the oldest.Thanks for looking and HH.:usaf:

Go easy on the cleaning though. Enough detail is visible to determine if it's a high value coin and if it is, further cleaning might diminish the value (you probably already know that but just in case....).

Could be one of those coins that goes to auction and sells for a small fortune.....
