1878 Morgan dollar.

I have posted this Morgan dollar before, but she is so darn pretty that I wanted to share again. I'm having detecting withdrawals and was playing around with my camera and special effects with Kodak EasyShare. This is my first and only silver dollar so far and the neat thing about it is my buddy and I were hunting an area close by to where this old town was platted in the same year 1878...........:) HH.

Very nice Morgan Dollar you have there. I found my first one last year and it was worn really bad. It was a 1901-O and I found it in a ballfield. And I think it probably is going to be the only one I will ever find unless I hit a virgin spot. Congrats on the Silver Dollar.

Thanks Jack. My heart was pumping when I turned the sod over and that beauty was staring at me. From the condition it was in it wasn't in the persons pocket very long before it was lost. They must have just came from the bank getting money to bet on the horse races. Oops!!!! Don't want to give away too many hints about the area I found it.....:) HH.

Hi harry. I have a Cannon PowerShot A95 and was using the macro setting for the closeups. I'm still playing with it and still learning just like I'm still learning about my Explorer.HH........:)

Hi Doug,
It does make you wonder how people lose things and it really amazes me how so many rings are lost as well as all the coins. I am posting a picture of my very first gold ring that I found about three and a half years ago and it came with the 20 inch gold Tiffany chain also. I took the chain to a jeweler to have it repaired. Cost me $18, but it was money well spent.HH.............:)
