Hi everyone,
I dropped by to hunt the sidewalk strip I had talked to a guy about the other day. It was maybe an area about 12' X 50' in front of a small home built in 1945. I couldn't believe how many coins were coming out of this little spot (mostly pennies). I removed 5 zincolns, 14 pre-'82 memorials, 3 wheats (1944-D; 1956-D; 194?-S), 5 dimes, 1 quarter, and this 1882 surprise from The Netherlands. It came out of the same hole as the 194?-S wheat. I left another half-dozen or so penny signals in the ground for the owner since he said he was planning on getting a detector--I figured it would give him something to practice on. I really like finding old foreign coins so far from their home--it would be fun to know the history behind how it got here.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your next hunt! ---Cladiator
