1941 10K Class Ring!

Goldstrike

Well-known member
Not finding anything of value on the last few of my beach trips, except the usual handful of modern coins, I've lately been detecting an old home site in the foothills of the San Gabriel's where I live. The house is down to the foundations but the 2nd trip today to the site yielded this cute little lady's 1941 gold (10K) class ring!! I need to weigh it yet but I figure maybe around 4 grams?
I haven't found one this old and wonder if it's even possible to track the owner this far back? I see ALLEN engraved on the inside.
There used to be many men of Chinese descent that had camps up in there mountains in the 1800's that used to pan for gold in the creeks eeking out a meager living and I hear other guy's have come across opium pipes and related relics from that time etc; I'll just settle for some old gold and silver coins, jewellery and artifacts!!!!
I'm very jazzed and confident now and will be making more trips back to the site!! There HAS to be more great finds there:clapping:. HH everyone!

Congrats on a great find !

That's an old one for sure, as would be its owner.......like 90!.I think that one goes in your collection. WTG GS

Thats a very great find there Goldie! :clapping: Sometimes its nice to get off the sand for a while, I think beach hunting and dirt hunting in conjunction really helps a guy get good at both disciplines fast!...especially when it comes to hunting gold...good to see you can find gold anywhere! Congratulations! :beers:
Mud

Thanks everyone and Mud, yep it's good to vary detecting ground and tactic's to add variety to the hobby and time spent!. Instead of greeting all the scantily clad pretty young ladies:inlove: on the beach:cheekkiss:, I get so say hi to the rattlesnakes and critters that inhabit the bone dry foothills and mountains here!!! What a trade off LOL!!!! Seriously though.....you have to watch where your stepping because there are lots of rattlers out because of the dry and warm/hot conditions here. I don't want to have to be medivacce'd out to the hospital because of a snake bite!!:stretcher:

Ha! Well, the older you get, you cant help feel a bit sorry for a snake, deaf, no arms or legs and everybody hates them... At my age I'm more afraid of scantily clad pretty young ladies than an 8' eastern diamondback...sure both are exciting and get a guys heart pumping!,

I guess a snake is just trying to keep from getting stepped on, and at the very least has the courtesy to warn you of an impending life threatening strike..they say snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them..thats not necessarily true, depending upon the snake or the person, i've never seen a snake scream and jump and wet its pants..anyway, ,.a flaxen haired floozy, a hardbody harlot, buxom beach bunny, or a wicked winsom wench on the other hand, is not afraid at all of an old rich guy! Targets an old guy, actually slithers up and hunts him down, hypnotizes him with her rattle, sensuous curves, pretty pattern, and moves in for the kill! much more dangerous! The only thing that can repel them is to dress poor and drive junk...Yes, a good old rattler is much more honest, it dont care if you have money and can dance, and, in case your date with it goes bad, it makes a nice hat band, so thats a plus....
Mud

Mud....you really crack me up!!!!!:lmfao: I'd better finish with this last comment/posting on this find before the moderator moves this whole post somewhere else! I think we are wayyyyy off topic LOL!!!! Happy Hunting!!

Nice find .. congrats.. some years back I almost stepped on a big black snake in a drained public swimming pond.. having concern for public safety I told a group of teeny bopper girls who were nearby to stay away from that area as there was a large black snake over there... to my surprise they promptly went over to the snake and killed it...

Wow!!! brave kid's!!! I would have ran in the opposite direction!!! (after telling the kid's) lol!!
