1943 steel penny signal ?

copper kidd

New member
I was just wondering what type of signal a 1943 steel penny would ring up on the AT Pro ? If anyone has one to test it that would be nice information to keep in mind. Maybe I've been passing some up. I haven't dug anything under 25 on the VDI.
Thanks for your help.

1943 steel penny VDI comes up under 10 and jumps around from 4 to 5 and 10, it will give you an iron grunt even if you don't have audio iron on. Be honest I wouldn't even dig a signal like this, unless I'm in a kids TOT LOT

Wow, I never gave that a thought... usually run with discrim at 30. I need to rethink that. Thanks for the suggestion.

I keep all discrimination off on the at pro. But digging a steel penny would be pure luck since it is so low and choppy on the scale and sound. Good luck on the hunt. Maybe with persistent hunting we can all find what we are hunting after.
