Went out for a quick hunt on a nice day. Had permission to hunt a local attorneys office which is an older home in town (191:geek:. Didn't find much at first but found out why later. Finally found a few wheaties (1935, 1940, 1945, 1945s and 1951) and my first ever mercury head (193:geek:!!! But best find and the reason I may not have found more was this Ground EFX CHILDS DETECTOR!!!! Found it buried under some leaves. Looked broken and didn't have any batteries. Asked the landowner if it was a grandkids. He said he had not given anybody permission to hunt his land and didn't know whose it was. I got it home and fixed it!! Works great!! I'll give it to a niece who has been interested in detecting and maybe start her in the hobby!!!

Nice finds and I know your niece will be happy with her own detector. That's why I love this hobby, you never know what's going to turn up.

Finding a metal detector while metal detecting. It costs about $60.00 and:

-Detect coins up to 5" deep, larger metal up to 24"
-6.5" circular coil submersible up to 24"
-Volume varies depending on signal strength
-Unit length adjustable from 26" to 36"
-Designed to withstand the rigors of child use

Now aint that something? Not many of us or ANY of us have found a detector while out detecting! Hey, congrats on that Merc too! you sure had a good day! You may find a jar full of gold coins on your next run!

Now that's one for the "most unusual finds" section! Very cool that it works and will be put to good use! :twodetecting:
Nice digs on the lead soldiers, wheats and the Merc:cheers: !!

Yeah, that detector find has to be one of the more unusual ones. Good one...and nice on the Mercury. HH jim tn
