Gday up there :ausflag:

Hope you all are as warm as possible - its Summer down here so its about 80 degrees F today here
Yesterday I swung the Etrac for a couple of hours in an old park that I had been over a fair bit with my Xterra70
I found 17x 1c and 15x 2c copper coins (these are now defunct), 2 pre decimals : a shilling and a penny, a broken silver ring and my 1st Crotal bell.
Its a sweet little thing made of brass
I carefully cleaned out the dirt from inside and it still rings ;)
My Etrac's amazing seperation and depth capability has opened up all my old parks that I have done to death with the Xterra.
Happy swinging

You did well. Funny about the Aussie 1c and 2c coins. Some in good condition, are actually worth quite a lot to collectors and though they have been taken out of circulation apparently they are yet to be demonetized. They remain legal tender, so you can still get their value back form the mint, not from a merchant though .

lets see 17x 1c and 15x 2c =47cents face value.......:beers: hmmm................. nearly half a litre of ulp petrol maybe.....

Congratulations on the finds and thanks for the pictures. Nifty little crotal bell. Still looking for my first one of those here in the states.

Nice ones! The bell looks like it could be pretty old--any idea on its age? Sounds like the weather down there is perfect for hunting. Thanks for sharing the pictures and story.

The history of crotal bells goes back to medieval times
But, my city was founded in 1836 ( a late bloomer )
The design looks like a mid to late 1800's.
