Yesterday was the first time out with a metal detector since I was a teenager. Found lots of trash.
I figured the best way to relearn digging plugs was to tear up my own yard first.
The emi turned out to be a big mess. I did the freq scan several times, tried lowering the sensitivity, etc. then spent about 25 minutes cycling through the other factory presets and doing more scans and shifts trying to cut the chatter, but there was so much of it that I had to use Mono. It was still chirping, but it was a lot better. Only got one item that had a clear, stable TID - a small old flagpole holder pipe cemented in about 2” down. Everything else was jumping around.
I was surprised the Deus 2 picked up a tiny foil pull string from an old cigarette pack. I kept the bolt and the big washer. Might be able to use them for something.
