1st day on the mountains Cd. Victoria, Mexico

1st day out 5 days of vacations: I went to an old real camino, where I had found before a 1910 cent and a gold molar. This old real camino used to connect Cd. Victoria to Tula and it was closed in the 1950's and a new road was builded up. This old camino road is up in the mountains and is hard to walk because of the vegetation. This old road and the new one are seldomly used now because the government made a newer road that goes all the way down between the mountains. I several times heard noises of big animals in the vegetation and was afraid since there are mountain lions and bears on this region. Anyways, nothing bad happen and I enjoyed searching with my ace although I did not find a coin but several dated early 1900's bullets, which are cool to find. It is also interesting to mention that I got tired once walking on loose gravel that I decided to take a rest since my heart was pounding so hard against my chest. The day was rainy and cloudy and I enjoyed being between those huge mountains and thinking about that we are nothing as humans beings compared to all this. I later was better and started my search and found a millipede crawling in a mountain crack that was so big compared to the ones from my house. I grabbed it and it started secreting a fluorescent yellow liquid through pores on its back rings or segments onto my hand. Suddenly, I felt numbness on my hand and as if I had burned my hand with fire, so I released the critter. The most interesting thing that happen was that my hands turned bloody where the stains of that liquid landed and the bloody stains lasted for my whole vacations (5 days aprox.) My hands looked like if they had been hammered several times. The millipede was close to six inches and like a centimeter of diameter and its color was yellowish and redish too. I guess it is a different genus or a mutation of the common one and it was not a centipede. Then I decided to go to another place across the mountains where my uncle had taken me before and the place had been so dug out that is difficult to get a bullet. However, I found an old iron spur probably from the late 1800's. By the way, this is an old hacienda from 1850's and the remaining of the foundations are big. Here is a picture of what I found that day. The coins are new so to speak from the 1980's up. Tomorrow I will post photos of my vacation's second day since I did manage to find my oldest coin to date and my best find. Thank you for reading.

Great story ... thanks for sharing.

Generally, it is not a good idea to grab a critter you have not seen before.
This time you were lucky.
