Ok I found this ring today while hunting a field and was wondering what it could be worth. The only markings on it says solid gold, not sure what that means as far as value but im glad I finally found a gold ring. Anybody with info on the solid gold stamp and value? Im not a gold expert!

Wish I could help but never seen one,,I would be on the way to the local jewelry store or pawnshop in my case just to get it checked out I have never saw one with the only markings of SOLID GOLD wish I were more help

CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK

Wow, awesome find.

Do you have a gold tester?
Some of the modern testers will test all the way to solid gold.

I found a ring some years back that also had solid gold on the inside of it, but it obviously wasn't. I posted it and I think someone commented that back in the '50's door to door salesmen were selling these. I don't know if that is what you got. Yours looks way better than mine did. HH

I recently found a similar ring with the same mark, it tested at 10 Karat. Wish I could say it was 18 instead but 10 K is better than no K.

Yes im thrilled to have found the ring but I believe its going back to the landowners family it was a womans wedding band lost years ago I think it will mean a whole lot more to them than me as painful as it is to give my first gold ring back the story is so much sweeter with the ring in the family hands again. She had a daughter, and a son that has passed but I can imagine her daughter having it will be something way more than it will me having it. So I guess my ring count is back to 0 again! And I don't want to know what its worth anymore:cry:. Oh and she lost it throwing out dirtydishwater so don't throw out dirty dishwater:rofl:

No, even though in my opinion, you are doing the right thing returning the ring and you still have that as a ring count. I found 2 so far, one was one I lost 12 years ago and another I recovered. I sent them to ARA so I don't have them anymore but they still count as rings found. Way to go and hope you find more.

Yes, I think your doing the right thing. And I know how you feel. However, the feeling and site of a farmer tearing up when you hand him hid grandfathers wedding ring is also priceless, which happend to me. I did go to the farm specifically to search for it, after first beinbg attempted some 20 yrs before. Gets better yet... after the first ring, the farmer pointed to a section of field that he reported a long time farm hand loosing a wedding ring... took 15 mins to find it. I was just before christmas and he sent it to the farmhand as a gift. So I have 2 of a few that I have returned with good stories and good feelings. Also, handle a lot of gold jewelrya nd have seen many with "solid Gold" stamp... they most always test to be 10K. HH, MIke
