Got up to almost 50 deg. today. Hit a couple parks for two hours. Got my first gold ring 14k. It had a Canardly diamond. For those of you who dont know what a Canardly diamond is. It is a diamond you "Can Hardly" see. Also got a nice CW Infantry cuff button, A local token. And 3 wheats, 18,43,51. The 43 suprised me, only 2nd steel penny I have dug where I could read the date. No silver, but it was nice to get out.

Way to go Mark!!! Nice variety of finds. What was the reading on the gold ring?

keep on digginn'

Sweet finds.

I found a Couldardly Steel penny this summer. The only reason I know it was a steel one was that is was completely rusted and was with a pocket spill of 4 other wheaties. Groound is frozen solid here so I am anxiously awaiting some sort of thaw.

It is always nice when mother nature gives us a little window of nice weather to MT in the winter. I too was able to go out for a couple of days. We had an arctic blast that dropped the temps to 5 degrees at night and 20 during the day. The temps got up to upper 40's the last 4 or 5 days and I was able to get out. The first 2-3 inches of dirt were thawed out but the rest was as hard as a rock. The coins I did find, sounded like they had amplifiers on them, some were 6 inches or more deep, fun getting those out. I didn't find any Canardly, would have been happy to get some of those. Winter is back now in Idaho, snowing as I write.

Way to go Mark!! Congrats on some great finds. Love the cuff button.

Just got my new E-trac from Tony so save a few for me:detecting: Hope to meet up some time and do a little detecting together.

Gold is Gold great find, I'm still having a hard time with the rings and the E-Trac looks as if your getting it figured out...later

I saw a post some time ago where a THer was working a beach for gold. I think he showed 7 gold rings and a big double handful of pull tabs. The "secret" was out! Dig all 11,12,and 13 fe hits and there will be gold. You only think you can tell the difference EVERY TIME between a PT and gold. My last nice ring sounded scratchy and broken all of 4" down and out popped a nice 18K with a quality 20 pt stone. Total weight 3.3 grams. On the beach I recover every signal that is not iron (and a few that are). Terry
