1st Large cent, 1820-40's US military coat button, MANY other buttons etc

Spent most of yesterday afternoon back at the field that I found the capped bust 1/2 dime in. Kept hoping for some more coinage, and finally did manage to find my 1st large cent. Unfortunately it is in poor condition and I can't make the date out, before I cleaned it I think I saw an 8 as the last number. It's the 1816-39 variety. Alas...no more old silver......YET. Also found yesterday a small floral brooch minus the pinback, and some assorted what-not. So far out of this field I've found 38 Colonial-early & mid 1800's buttons. I found the nicest one yesterday, it's a 1820-1840 US military great coat button. Of course it is missing the shank but it is still way cool in my opinion. I kept thinking I was sure to find at least one military button out of the bunch I was digging. The plantation owner was originally a Colonel in the Revloltionary war and fought in some of the local indian uprisings and etc once he had moved to this area. I figured that some of the early American settler/visitors that came by and camped at his place had to have been "old army buddies". Have found several small round balls here and one piece of lead ingot (I think?), but nothing Civil war as of yet. "They" were there somewhere though, there were 3 cannon balls found on the property sometime before the present owner's time (and he's probably mid 70's), 1 18lb mortar ball and 2 16 lb.? regular. Not sure if I'll be able to get much more hunting done here before the corn is too high but there's always next year and I'm pretty sure I got the bulk of the area covered now. HH to all.

Nice finds again, that us button is sweet!! Congrats.
