Last week a co-worker commented on a Victorian Brooch my wife was wearing.(Tiffany or Tiffany & Co can't remember) Anyhow she asked my wife if it was an Heirloom. The wife said no my husband found it metal detecting. The lady then said her sister n law just lost her great grandmothers ring & would I try to find it.Wife said yes have her call.Lady lost it 3 weeks ago gardening 18K or Platinum not sure..So I called my 2 huntin buddys they said they were in.We met the lady & her husband, lady shows us a pic of the ring.Tiny skinny wedding band.We didn't say anything to her but our hearts pretty much sank. They showed us where they they thought it was lost roughly 3/4 of an acre no kidding. They went inside,we went back to truck for machines. My buddy commented he hoped a bug didn't eat it.Three different detectors: Teknetics Delta 4000,Garret AT Pro,Garret Ace 250. 5 minutes into the hunt I found it! Teknetics Delta 4000 stock coil,Disc at 40,Sens 8,volume 10 because I'm hard of hearing, rang in at 45.So happy she hugged and cried. I was happy because I found 18K Gold (a first no matter how small & my first return)They offered us a reward but we all declined. They told us we could detect the rest of the property and keep what we found. One Quarter, a padalock, junk, a chunk of copper pipe is what we found.Kinda sad because it was an older place and the house was good sized.Still it was a good feeling to do a good deed.Plus they will tell all their friends and it will look good for the hobby.Sorry no pics I have an old flip phone.I might have been able to get one but the minute I yelled the back door flew open she lept off the the deck snatched the ring with one hand and hugged me with the other.GL & HH everyone!
