1st SE Gold

TURNMASTER

Active member
I got out for 45 min this afternoon before putting in extra hours at work. Looked like this may have been the last decent day to go beeping this year and it started pouring a couple hours later. The forcast calls for snow.

I now understand the sound of Gold. I am not sure but I may have missed digging some over the summer. Although this is based on the ID and not the exact tone.
This thin little ring (1/2g) IDed at 14 1 and was a strong tone in 2 directions. I chose to dig this one based partly on this post.

I may have dug anyhow because it was a tone I did not recognise but the ID was cool.

It is not bent, it looks to be part of a wedding set. Also has no markings but does have a ding that goes halfway through in the inside and has not been cleaned and still looks great.

Very Nice gold!!.... turnmaster..Never seen one come in under 14-1...got a chart with a few rings on it some where around here,...with the Se digital screen numbers........gotta look that up for you............NIce one, joe

After looking at my pic's and the numbers,........ 14-1 is very possible, upper right hand corner, loop ER is 15-1,........ so the thinness of the gold could be the reason the number is so high. Gold is Gold...Congrads again.................joe

All gold will sound different depending on the KT, and how much is there. I am glad you got one! :clapping:

Do you guys run in Digital or Smartfind? I have been in Digital and IM on at 22 . Based on some of these numbers I have left Gold in the ground.

Always nice to dig gold....Congrats! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Hi OldBeachNut....Congrats on all those nice finds, especially the gold and silver! I can tell you have the patience and the persistance to find the finer goodies lost in the ground! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Turnmaster, I hunt almetal with the Se and the excal. I do use the digital scrren all the time on the SE.....I..just listen for the right tones {mid-hi to higher} then If I hear one I start watching the screen as I rescan this area...If a desirable number comes up, under 15-1 .............I dig.......... I feel with almetal it is less of a restricted field and you hear everything..got video with tones finding a wheaty some where... http://s704.photobucket.com/albums/ww50/Oldbeechnut/?action=view&current=test.flv&newest=1

Thanks Maw, i have to confess..all of those were found at the beach from a couple years ago...I do enjoy digging the gold and silver..But each ring I find I feel for the person that lost it, for some have so much history and meaning for that person..A great loss for many I'm sure.

Thanks ..........joe

Digital most of the time. When relic hunting out east or field digging here I dig all but iron. I run a -10 IM but my numbers are different as I run the Explorer II

Well, on the beach is easier digging and I guess that is where the saying comes from: Finders Keepers; Losers Weepers! I lost both rings of my wedding set at two different times....both in the water...first the engagement ring and then the wedding band! My ex bought me a gold wedding band with 4-leaf Clovers circling it and I guess that was for good luck to keep me from losing that one! :heh: May God Bless....sure would have liked to have been near a sandy beach many a time when I got tired of digging in the dirt and rocks! Amen! Ma Betty
