1st silver with the SE

TURNMASTER

Active member
Hit a yard I have hunted several times before. It has produced several Mercs a Barber dime and many Wheats. Today was no disapointment. I picked out a '20 Merc and a '17 Wheat both are D mint mark. I was hoping for a double die on the penny but alas not this time.

While digging the coins I could hear the nulling as I ran my dirt past the coil. I did not take the time (this time) to pick out the little pieces of Iron. The Merc was sitting at about 45 degrees and did have a finishing nail also in the hole. This may explain why I missed these coins with the Xterra.

Congrats on the first SE silver Jeff.

I think the SE will bring a few more your way.

Good luck on your next hunt:cheers:

Hope to see more finds from you next outings. Best of Luck and HH to you!

I think it will take some time to learn the intricacies of this machine. I think one of the biggest issues for me will be my sweep speed. How slow is slow, how slow is creeping. How slow is you have to drive a stake to judge his progress.

Someone said a couple days age that (one thousand one) per foot was about right. I really have to find a couple other Explorer operators to hunt with. I think I will go to MLO TV and see if I can find some footage or you tube.

Anybody got any good vids that are a must see for sweep speeds?
