2.5 hr hunt

Went on a 2.5 hour hunt yesterday since it was cool, sunny, and had rained a bit to loosen up the soil. Went to a church camp area that I have hunted many times before including a climbing ropes area. After 2.5 hours I had found an old key, 46 cents in clad, a match box car and some pull tabs. So on my way across the common grass area I told myself I would dig one more good hit if I came across on, and then call it a day. About 20 feet from my car I got a solid high sound and an unwavering 42 on the ID. Looked good to me so I started digging, but couldn't locate anything with my pin pointer. Finally, at about 5" I could detect a signal, dug down another inch or so and pulled up the silver Washington quarter. First in several years.

Nothing like seeing silver in the hole. Congratulations.

 That's as good a way to end a drought as any! Congrats!
