Tried the F75 out at an old Lutheran Church I used to hunt often but the finds were getting few and far between. This old country church site has a history dating back to 1868 when the old log church was first built. The F75 was quiet...in fact I thought it wasn't functioning properly. I was running DE mode with discrimination at 21 and sensitivity at 70. I was in 3H. Switched to JE mode for a while but the ground came alive with a lot of false signals...so I switched back to my original settings but went to 2F on tones. This worked great for me...the coin sounds were smooth and deep.

The first smooth deepie was a '36 Buffalo at 8"...pretty good I thought...because I had hunted this site so hard in the past with my 1265 and 1266X Fishers. I had found a lot of oldies here with them...even shields and V's. My next keeper signal was sharper and among a lot of iron...turned out to be 1943 S Silver nickel at 6". The final Buffalo was a '26 at 5". I found only one more coin after that...a 1925S wheatie at 6".

I'm learning this new F75...it's a bit different and a lot faster than my older Fishers and Minelabs. It's been very dry here too but the ground is sandy under the big spralling oaks. I did pass up some good sounding signals at 12 and 13 inches. Just too hard to dig those. We haven't had any good rains since June...so maybe after a good rain I can really get to the deeper stuff!

BTW...I used my Garrett Propointer here for the first time. Let me tell you...I loved it! Best pinpointer built! And I've used many in the past.

Charles how did the Bufs read # ?.I found a few with my F75 and they were everywhere on the scale.Just curious if all F75's read them everywhere on the scale.

Definitely did not have a lock...numbers bounced from 27 to 43 but lingered more in the 31 area. It was the sound that prompted me to dig. I found a couple of pulltab "tails" that tried to immitate them and fooled me. The silver nickel gave a higher bounce into the upper 40's. I've been finding out that the F75 usually will act this way on most deeper coins. I was fooled by some deep iron but usually it gave itself away after I removed the first shovel full of dirt. That's why I went to the 2F tones...it was easier for me to recognize the smooth sound...similar to the older 1260 series.
